Description

International Thinner No.3 is suitable for use with antifouling paints (except for Micron® Optima and VC® products), bottom coatings and other special paints. It is also used to help thin one-part varnishes and finishes making them suitable for spray application. This thinner can also be used for equipment cleaning in association with the above products.

METHYLATED SPIRIT 1L

Mineralised Methylated Spirit for use as fuel (cooking and heating) and solvent for mixing and cleaning. It is a denatured alcohol and manufactured from virgin materials resulting in a cleaner burning flame. It is also used with good effect in Triangia and other burners. Methylated Spirits contains a purple dye and can be used as a thinner in our Button Polishes, French Polishes and Patent Knottings. It is highly flammable but the sizes identified as part of our Craftsman Range are shipped in strong metal (UN standard) child proof tins.

Bird Brand Paint & Varnish Stripper is ideal the removal of paints polyurethane varnish and emulsion from wood and metal. A safer and less hazardous way to remove paint.

Coverage 500ml will cover up to 2-4 square meters depending on coating and thickness.

Recommended stripping times:
Varnish, shellacs, French polish: 15-30 minutes. Normally, only one application is required.
Lacquers, polyurethane: 30-45 minutes. 2-3 applications may be required.
Multi-layered paint: 1 hour and scrape off. Repeat process if required.

For more than 5-6 coats of paint: Apply a liberal and even coat and leave overnight covered with plastic film to prevent drying out. Because of the water content in this product, do not leave longer than the recommended time on veneered surfaces. ALWAYS TRY A SMALL TEST AREA FIRST.

Cellulose Thinners is very strong solvent generally used for thinning cellulose paints, cleaning equipment and brushes and removing excess paint. It is also widely used to remove stickers from glass/metal, and graphics from vehicles body work, although you should always test an inconspicuous area for colour fastness on any surface where you intend to use Cellulose Thinners. It has a particularly strong odour and should be handled with particular care, use in well ventilated working areas, contaminated rags should be disposed of safely, and it should be stored in a safe place.
